Today, TD Economics released a very interesting paper on the Canadian labour market in 2007. I was pleased to see it highlight many of the same general trends that Andrew and I emphasized: the sharp decline in manufacturing jobs, the increase in part-time work, the rise of self-employment, and wages barely outpacing inflation in Alberta. Al Weersink, a professor in the Department of Food, Agricultural & Resource Economics, will be on the CBC news program The National tonight talking about the reasons behind rising food prices. His comments are scheduled to precede a news report about a meeting on the same subject called by the International Monetary Fund. The National is CBC's flagship nightly news and current affairs program. It airs at weeknights at 9 p.m. on CBC Newsworld, Channel 26 in Guelph, and at 10 p.m. on CBC TV, C
